Jatinga: A small Khasi village 9 km from Haflong, district headquarter of Dima Hasao. It is known throughout the world for the unexplained phenomenon of migratory birds ‘committing mass suicide’ there. The migratory of birds starts from August till November and it becomes the ornithologists’ attraction. Here the mist and fog lie like a veil from September to November. During these late monsoon months, mysterious behaviour of birds takes place. No answers have been found to this mystery.
